CREATIVE WORKSHOPS FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN

"Developing trust"

Creativity is a human feature which allows a person to generate new inner spaces and to expand his world. It forces transformation and self-transformation so that unique, gratifying, revealing and vital moments may be lived, which work in favor of building a fuller life.

Art in all of its forms can be a powerful educational and transforming tool. Understanding the need to have a creative aspect in every educational process, Fundación Asha-Kiran organizes different creative workshops for vulnerable children in Pune, India.

Building trust is the key aspect in the workshops - a trust from which children may open up to their own sensitivity, forget their daily routine and freely express their fears or frustrations.

Less time in the streets may mean more safety, more protection, more caring. These workshops provide the necessary space for latent creative talent to emerge in children through painting, clay work, dance, plays, bodily expression and any other form of self-expression that is deemed appropriate.

Nowadays, no one in the education field questions the need for an education which will make the development of creativity possible. At the same time, creativity is sought as a way to encourage and facilitate learning.

We are all creative. We all can, we all are potentially creative - all we need is to find the space that will make this development possible.

OBJECTIVES
