MANISH SHROFF
Director of Asha-Kiran Shelters Foundation

Manish has the rich experience of having worked with an International NGO for ten years before joining Asha-Kiran.
Throughout these years, he has spearheaded many socially-oriented programs, such as establishing a primary and secondary school, a door-to-door school, schools for children of construction workers, and promoting rural development. He is also the Convener of Action for the Rights of the Child (ARC) a Pune-based network of around 30 NGO's. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Campaign against Child Labor (CACL), a nationwide network of more than 6000 NGOs - Maharashtra Chapter - and represents the State of Maharashtra at the national level. He was also involved in developing a project in Bangladesh for a year.
Manish has a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, with a Diploma in Human Resources Management and Office Management, and obtained an MBA, specializing in Marketing Management. He has been director of Asha-Kiran Shelters Foundation since May, 2007.

ANIRUDDHA B. PADALE
Project Coordinator

Aniruddha B. Padale holds a B.A. and a MSW (Master in Social Work) specialization in Urban & Rural Community Development.
- He has been involved in various social activities for urban & rural communities since 2000.
- He specialized in planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and intervention of projects.
- He worked in de-addiction of children in an Observation Home.
- He has experience working in the field of education, health, watershed, women's empowerment, agriculture, small scale business, tribal development, Homes for children & sponsorship.
- He has Net-worked with various NGO's and government sectors in project implementation.
- He has a special interest in new project intervention and emergencies.

DEEPTI SAPKAL
Social Worker

Deepti is a Social Worker who obtained her Masters degree in Family and Childcare in 2005. Since then, she has worked in Counseling Centers and NGOs. At Asha-Kiran, among her responsibilities are the following:
- Monitor the daily functioning and activities of the Day Care Centers
- Counsel children and families in relation to health issues, hygiene, and difficulties in educational processes
- Conduct Parents’ meetings
- Do the yearly planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Projects
- Networking with other NGO’s
- Start support classes in the community, adult education classes, provide vocational training guidance and adolescent health education
- Work with ICDS (Integrated Child Development Scheme) for early child care
- Run CBO’s (Community Based Organizations) and SHG’s (Self Help Groups) in the community

PRADIP BALSARAF
Social Worker
|
Pradip obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Master’s degree in Social Work. He started his career as a ‘National Service Volunteer’ in the Dept. of Student Welfare, University of Pune. He contributed to the creation of an organization for youths called ‘Yuva Asmita’, and started a shelter for street children in Pune.
He has also worked as Program Coordinator for the international NGO Children’s Future Norway (Pune chapter) for five years, and has wide experience as a teacher in middle schools. He has likewise worked as a Counselor with differently-abled children like juvenile delinquents and children with behavioral difficulties and maladjustments.

VANDANA KAMBLE
Teacher

Vandana Kamble is a teacher in one of the Day Care Centers. She completed her Kindergarten training course, and is a qualified teacher. She has three years' experience teaching children in a prominent NGO in Pune. She is also currently pursuing her bachelors' degree.

KAVITA PANDE
Teacher
|
Kavita is a teacher at the Day Care Center located in the Hadapsar area. In addition to having seven years’ experience as a teacher before joining Asha-Kiran, she completed the Montessori Training Course in 2002. Her main interest is social and community work.

ANITA GAIKWAD
Caretaker at Yashodhara Home
|
Anita holds a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a Masters in Social Work.
She works as a live-in caretaker at Yashodhara Home, where she looks after the children and their needs with care and diligence.
Anita has worked as a Shelter Superintendent and Social Development Officer in aid-to-development projects.
Her work experience includes
- Counseling children and families
- Conducting meetings for Village Development and Self Help Groups
- Conducting training for capacity-building
- Conducting Participatory Rural Appraisals
- Counseling in a Rehabilitation Center

KIRTI PATIL
Psychologist

"Helping society find its psychological well-being"
Kirti is a psychologist for the children of Asha-Kiran's Projects. Her education includes an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and a postgraduate course in Counseling and Psychotherapy.
Some of Kirti's other qualifications are:
- Work in the field of Counseling and Psychotherapy since 2003.
- Work as consultant Psychologist and Psychotherapist in 'Pune Institute for Psychological Health' since 2007.
- Screen and Diagnosis Projects of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Satara, Pune, Raigad and Sindhudurg Districts.
- Work as consultant Psychologist in national and international NGO's.
- The running of Counseling and Psychotherapy Centers - Manas, Pune.

EZAZ SHAIKH
Psychologist

Ezazis one of the psychologists for the children at Yashodhara and the Day Care Centers. He holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and completed a postgraduate course in Counseling and Psychotherapy. He has also
- Worked as consultant Psychologist and Psychotherapist in 'Pune Institute for Psychological Health' since 2007.
- Completed a project on 'Child Mental Health Awareness' in corporation schools in 2008-09.
- Completed screen and diagnosis projects for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Satara, Pune, Raigad and Sindhudurg Districts.
- Worked as consultant Psychologist in national and international NGO's.
- Run two Counseling and Psychotherapy Centers - MANAS (Pune) and Zareeya (Narayangaon).
